The majority of these Council Shoulder Patches were
collected between 1972 and 1982, and again between 1998 and 2002.
There has only been a couple of dozen added since then. All
patches are in MINT to near MINT condition except for about a
fifteen or so that have become somewhat flimsy due to age but have
never been sewn or used so far as I can tell. The few
used/sewn patches that I can identify in the collection are pictured
as the end of the listing and are clearly labeled. |
|
All patches have been stored in their
own archival poly bags and are backed by cardboard to help keep
their shape. Unfortunately, I
never practiced the generally accepted CSP identification system
that has been in place for as long as I can remember. Clearly,
I wish I had now, but hopefully you'll be able to get some idea as
which patch is what. The pictures shown were personally scanned
by me, and I will vouch for them all as being original issues with
no known fakes. Additionally, I will be happy to answer any
questions you may have regarding a patch or patches. |
|
There are roughly 3,650 patches in this collection which breaks down to about
1,850
unique patches and approximately 1,800 duplicates with the total
number available listed below the patch in red. Most, though, stand
alone with no duplicate available, and many being from councils that
are long past closed, merged or had its name changed.......some, for
more than 40 or 50 years. |
